Mobile Workshop Truck Bodies for IVECO Trucks Delivered to the Netherlands

Alura Trailer has completed the production of a new series of mobile workshop truck bodies for IVECO commercial trucks for a customer in the Netherlands.

This project was developed as a complete field maintenance solution rather than a conventional truck body. Lubrication systems, compressed air, electrical power generation, waste-oil collection, water and washing equipment, workshop tools and lifting equipment were integrated into a compact body designed around the customer's actual service requirements.

Mobile Workshop Project for the Netherlands

The mobile workshop bodies were manufactured by Alura Trailer for installation on IVECO truck chassis and subsequent operation in the Netherlands. The project combines several maintenance functions within one vehicle so that service teams can perform lubrication, mechanical maintenance, cleaning and fluid-handling operations directly in the field.

The equipment layout was planned as part of the body engineering process. Dedicated compartments provide access to the generator, compressor, fluid systems, hose reels, workshop equipment and storage areas while keeping the main working area organized and practical for daily service operations.

Mobile Workshop Body Construction

Each workshop body has approximate overall dimensions of 4,500 mm length, 2,100 mm width and 2,350 mm height. The structure is manufactured using MWS bent C-type steel channels, 3 mm column sheets, 2 mm body panels and 80 mm high base cross members. An 18 mm plywood floor provides the base for the internal working area.

The body includes stainless-steel hinges and locks, sliding windows in usable areas, quick-access compartments and dedicated mounting areas for the integrated workshop systems. Electrical cables are routed inside the insulated structure and protected by cable sheathing.

The exterior uses an industrial polyurethane coating designed for resistance to chemicals, water, corrosion and normal workshop impacts. Elastomeric rubber insulation is used around the body and ceiling to improve thermal insulation and condensation control.

Independent Electrical Power and Compressed Air

The workshop is designed to support field operations with its own integrated power and compressed-air equipment.

This combination supplies electrical power and compressed air for the installed workshop equipment, pneumatic pumps, tools and other service operations.

Integrated Lubrication System

One of the principal functions of this mobile workshop is field lubrication. The vehicle carries four independent 200-litre fresh-oil tanks, giving a combined installed oil capacity of 800 litres.

Each oil circuit is equipped with its own RAASM pneumatic oil pump, 15-metre hose reel and dispensing gun with digital meter. Using independent circuits makes it possible to carry different lubricants within the same service vehicle without mixing the products.

Antifreeze and Grease Service Systems

The workshop also includes separate systems for antifreeze and grease service. Two 200-litre stainless-steel antifreeze tanks are connected to dedicated pneumatic pumps, hose reels and dispensing guns.

For lubrication work requiring grease, the vehicle is equipped with a pneumatic 50/60 kg bucket grease pump with a 50:1 compression ratio and a maximum pressure of up to 400 bar.

Waste-Oil Collection System

Waste-fluid management was integrated into the workshop rather than being treated as separate equipment.

The system includes a pneumatic diaphragm pump, waste-oil hose reels, a dedicated 200-litre waste-oil tank and a mobile 50-litre under-vehicle waste-oil collection unit. This allows used oil generated during field servicing to be collected and transferred into the vehicle's waste-oil storage system.

Water Storage and High-Pressure Washing

For field cleaning operations, the mobile workshop carries two 500-litre stainless-steel water tanks, providing a combined installed water capacity of 1,000 litres.

The water system is supported by a dedicated water pump and hose reel. A cold-water high-pressure washing machine is also installed for equipment cleaning.

Workshop, Welding and Repair Equipment

In addition to fluid service equipment, the body functions as an actual mobile mechanical workshop. A dedicated workbench and metal storage cabinet provide working and storage space for maintenance personnel.

The workshop equipment includes:

• Metal tool and equipment cabinet with seven shelves
• Two aluminium access shutters
• MMA welding machine with 5–350 A welding current adjustment
• Hydraulic and pneumatic mobile jack with 40/25-ton lifting capacity
• 62-piece professional mechanical hand-tool set

• Automatic compressed-air hose reel
• Air regulator and pneumatic water trap

Integrated Electric Crane

An electric lifting system is incorporated into the workshop for handling components and equipment during maintenance operations.

The installed electric crane has a rated lifting capacity of 600 / 1,200 kg with a lifting height of up to 10 metres. The body structure incorporates a dedicated crane connection channel as part of the workshop body design.

Lighting and Safety Equipment

The mobile workshop includes both interior and exterior lighting to support work during different operating conditions.

Project-Based Mobile Workshop Engineering

The Netherlands project demonstrates the project-based approach used by Alura Trailer for mobile workshop production. Instead of supplying a standard empty service body, the workshop layout is developed around the customer's actual maintenance process, truck chassis and required equipment.

Fluid capacities, generator and compressor specifications, storage systems, workbench arrangement, hose-reel positions, lifting equipment and access points can therefore be engineered according to the intended field operation.
